Yesterday was super: with a friend we started the day buy twirling around in Helsinki and going through flea markets. I found some colorful and crazy clothes to cheer up mi wardrobe! Can´t wait to wear those bright green pleated pants, which I found on sale. ;) I´ll post some pics later.

For lunch we came to my place and made some damn delicious pasta!

And then after the pasta, the wine and the dreaming, we came up with the idea to put roses in her hair and take pictures and here´s the result.

SHE´S SIMPLY GORGEOUS.

I also published some of the pictures on my website, which has a new look and a new page for necklaces. Check it out. ;)

Hope you all had a cozy weekend!

IPADING VOL 3

BSX
Remember that necklace, which I was making for sister´s graduation? Here it is!

I like it. Think that it turned out to look really nice.

At the both entrance tests (in Lahti and Helsinki) we had couple of exercises where we had to design necklaces and I got really excited about them. So last week I went to the recycling center and bought some materials for making myself couple of necklaces: my wardrobe looks super dull and I need something to cheer it up!
In Hietaniemi´s recycling center they have this section where you can find all sorts of materials for handcrafting. There´s lots of junk but you can also find treasures, if you have the patience to look around and dig deep into those boxes filled with different kinds of textiles, yarns etc. A true gold mine for me!

Necklace project 1:

And there´s a little sneak peek. It´s not ready yet so I´m not showing the whole pic.

Some of the findings from Hietsu:

Necklace project 2:

Yup, that´s what I´ve been working on today.

About the entrance exams of Aalto University School of Art and Design: I was there five days drawing and sowing and now...I´M ONE OF THE LAST 18 CANDIDATES! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I still can´t believe that this is happening. Now we´ll just wait for the letter, which will say if I´m one of the 8 luckiest who´ll get to study there. Studying in Aalto is my biggest dream at the moment. Yesterday after the last exam, when I was sitting in a tramway, carrying on another hand a huge bag with all my drawing, sowing and painting equipment and on the other a large paper portfolio, I almost started shaking. That was the moment when I finally understood, how close I´m achieving my dream. Thank god I didn´t have that moment days earlier: I would´ve probably fucked up all the assignments by panicking.

When I got home, I made myself a huge cup of coffee and for a moment just sat there on the balcony gathering my thoughts. I´m so happy. Even though I don´t know if I´m getting a study place, I´m incredibly flattered that I got a chance to show what I´m capable of creating. So happy! And this month was a big ego boost for me: I´m definitely more sure about my goals in life and about my style, designing and works and that´s exactly what I needed. Now I have more self- confidence to go after those big dreams.

After that gathering my thoughts, I went to see a friend´s new apartment, which is so cool: felt like I was in one of Aki Kaurismäki´s movies. Great vibes there :D We bought few beers and enjoyed the rainy summer evening. Best ending for this week.

To end this post, I want to say THANK YOU  for all the supporting text messages and phone calls that I got during this week. I truly have some caring and supporting friends.

On Saturday sister graduated from high school and got to put that white matriculation cap on. She looked damn cool wearing a zebra printed jacket and a skirt. Big sis was very proud!
We had the nicest day celebrating with family and friends: food was delicious (thanks to grandma), weather was perfect and our apartment had never looked as cute and poetic as it was that day.

Mom and sis.

I LOVE THIS SHOT. So beautiful.

I guess I haven´t written here anything about my second entrance exams...? Wellll: my preliminary assignments to Aalto University School of Art and Design were accepted and I got a call back for the entrance exams! Today was my first day there and I´m so excited! We had two different exercises and each one of them lasted four hours and tomorrow will be the same. Tomorrow evening or the morning after they´ll publish the names of  the candidates, who get to continue two more days doing those entrance exams. So fingers crossed that my name´s there!
Now I´ll head out for an evening run: I need to clear my head an tire myself so that I won´t stay up till three o´clock. :D
